Venture Sports: Fishing

As part of our venture activities we have a special boat called the Pioneer.

This has a drop-down section that allows you to push on in your chair.

If you fancy trying your hand at fishing we have a number of sets of fishing equipment including a special rod and reel that reels in the fish at the press of a button.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of fishing can I try? Fly fishing, Coarse fishing and Sea fishing.

Do I need any equipment? No, all fishing and outdoor equipment will be provided.

Is the fishing done from the shore or from a boat? The choice is yours. We have a specially adapted boat, usually on Blessington lakes in Wicklow, which allows you to stay in your wheelchair.

I have never fished before. That does not matter, we have a number of experienced anglers who can show you how to try your chosen type of fishing.

My grip is poor. That is ok, we have a specially adapted fishing rod and reel that is operated by a small motor which means fishing is possible for anyone.
