Venture Sports: What is a Buddy?

The role of a buddy is to support the person with a spinal injury. The Buddy takes part in all the activities themselves and provides whatever help is required to enable the full participation of the person with a spinal injury. All necessary training will be provided. You don’t need to have any previous experience of spinal injury or the particular activity, just enthusiasm and a willingness to muck in.

We are looking for people with a background in venture sports and those who are interested in trying venture sports, who would be interested in assisting and encouraging a person who has sustained a spinal injury to try venture activities.

We are endeavoring to create a pool of people around the country who would be available to take part in Wild Seals day and weekend venture activities.

If you are interested, please fill out the buddy application form. For more details, and a copy of the form, contact the SII Office at the numbers below, or by using the email link.

If you would like to submit your buddy question by email, just visit our Contact page and fill in the form there.
