Spinal Injuries Ireland held its third Jeet Kune Do Self Defence weekend recently in the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The Program continued the idea of introducing real self defence techniques to people who have sustained a spinal cord injury using the principles of Jeet Kune Do.

Sifu Martin O'Neill and his assistant instructor, Phelim Doran, from the Clannn Eireann Jeet Kune Do in Lurgan travelled down to the National Rehabilitation Hospital to put those attending through their paces and presented each student with a Certificate of Achievement. Martin was also assisted by level two Apprentice Instructors in Jeet Kune Do, Declan Breen and Colm Whooley. The proposal is to develop the program to include real life scenarios and more sparring in the future.

Spinal Injuries Ireland would like to thank the National Rehabilitation Hospital for allowing us to hold this program in the sports hall.
